Thursday, May 21st saw the completion of another successful year of Leadership Rancho Cordova. The Leadership Rancho Cordova program allows people who live or work in Rancho Cordova to spend 9 months learning more about their community and how to be better leaders.

Summer is on its way and for us still in school now is the time for looking back over the year and what we’ve accomplished. It’s been a busy year, especially for Cordova High School’s Interact/Jr. Rotary Club. This year we’ve been back at work in the community.

AB 640 by Assemblymember Huber will now advance to the Senate after passing the Assembly floor with overwhelming bipartisan support. AB 640 would enhance current sentences on individuals convicted of selling methamphetamine by imposing a minimum jail term of 120 days as a condition of probation.

Make no mistake about it, I love serving my community. As a City Council Member and Mayor in the City of Elk Grove, I get to do what I love most – serve people and neighborhoods. During my tenure on the Council, we have accomplished much.
