A man was arrested Sunday afternoon after allegedly leading police on a chase along Highway 50. Authorities report that the man ran from police and reached speeds of more than 80 miles per hour. The man was eventually cornered in a home in a neighoborhood where police were able to detain him.

The Sacramento County Sheriff’s Department has reported that someone placed an information recording device in the ATM at a Washington Mutual. The device records the card and PIN numbers of ATM users.
Sacramento County Sheriff’s Department Sexual Assault Bureau detectives are asking for the public’s help in identifying the suspect they believe is responsible for two sexual assaults which occurred on the Cordova High School campus. The first assault occurred on December 11, 2008, shortly before 8:00 a.m.
Folsom Police have been searching for a big screen TV thief that had tormented businesses in January and February. Last month, police distributed photos of two men wanted in the burglaries. Media attention led to an anonymous tip and eventually to Wednesday’s arrest of William Jerry Frear on suspicion of commercial burglary.
