If you and your family are looking for an activity during Easter weekend, then come and check out the Spring Extravaganza and Easter Egg Hunt at Hagan Community Park in Rancho Cordova on Saturday, April 11th.
With somewhat limited access across the American River, many commuters find their daily trips to or from Rancho Cordova frustrating at best. But as of March 28th, another option will be available. Folsom Lake Crossing Bridge is scheduled to open to traffic on March 28th. Not only will this easy access route prove beneficial for commuters, but for leisurely activities in the area as well.
The days of spring of nearly upon and the last couple weekends have seen bustling parks and perfect weather. If your children are starting to plan their summer activities, remind them that Rancho Cordova has plenty to offer, including a youth soccer league. The Rancho Cordova Youth Soccer Club caters to youth ages 4 through 18, primarily in the Rancho Cordova area, though all children are welcome.
City of Rancho Cordova employees were the recipients of the 2009 Outstanding Public Service Award that was presented at the recent Cordova Community Council’s Mardi Gras Party and Awards Ceremony. For the 10th year, the Cordova Community Council recognized outstanding volunteers in several categories for their public service contributions to the Rancho Cordova community.
The Rancho Cordova Police Department (RCPD) is pleased to announce a significant decline in crime despite a substantial increase in population. When compared to 2007, 2008 crime data indicates a reduction in violent crimes by almost 14% and a decrease in property crimes by 25%.
While many of today’s youth appears to be captivated by the amazing power of television and movies, time consuming video games and the convenience of cell phone use, there are those out there who choose to place their focus elsewhere, like music. Whether listening to it on an mp3 player or playing it in a garage band, it seems that music is a big part of a teenager’s life these days. There is much hidden youth talent out in our community that deserves to be acknowledged, and on May 1st local area bands will get that chance to display their musical talent.
