It’s the Most Wonderful Time of the Year

The holiday season is officially upon us. The decorations are out. The shopping has begun. And Christmas music is being piped into every building that accepts major credit cards. Rancho Cordova kicked off all things holiday with a fantastic Christmas Tree Lighting on Sunday evening. Singers, dancers, and a hay ride completed the festive event. But if you find yourself humming “Baby, It’s Cold Outside” and strategizing the most effective neighborhood caroling map, have no fear- there will be plenty of opportunities to celebrate the holiday season in Rancho.

Photo Contest Entry #2

The story of this handsome fella is a comfortable one. He seems to enjoy the indulgences of human life far more than what his dog bed can offer. In fact, he enjoys them so much he will sneak into the guest room and snuggle under the blankets on the bed when no one is looking. It seems that he was caught by someone armed with a camera. But, as long as he’s comfortable, who’s complaining?

To vote for entry number two simply leave a comment. Remember, the winner of the photo contest will receive a gift certificate for dinner for two at a gourmet restaurant in Rancho. Good Luck!

Pet of the Week: Scottie

Scottie is a white and orange full grown tabby cat with a gentle loving spirit. He came to the shelter a month ago and has been waiting patiently to be adopted. After a month most cats develop kennel cough, which is like a common cold for a cat, and can also become stir crazy in their cage. Scottie, on the other hand, has stayed healthy and has made his cage his little home.

Weatherize Your Home Today. Save Tomorrow.

Lloyd Throne, Director of the California Department of Community Services and Development, says “Weatherization reduces average annual energy costs per household by about $358 during the first year. For every $1 invested in weatherization, $1.53 is returned in energy related benefits”. That’s pretty significant, especially if it leaves you feeling more comfortable this winter.
