Lancers Lose 7th Game of Season

The Lancers lost another football game 35-14 to the Turlock Bulldogs on Friday night. The loss drops the Lancers to 1-7 on the season and improvesthe Bulldogs record to 7-1 . Coming up next week the Lancers face Christian Brothers. The Falcons enter the game with a 6-2 record in the Sierra Valley League after a 19-0 win over Galt. The Falcons stand atop the Sierra Valley League standings while the Lancers languish at the bottom.



Cordova Football Falls to Florin 3-47

The Lancers lost to Forin HS on Friday night by a score of 3 to 47 in a non conference game at home. This game was the Homecoming for the Lancers who now fall to 1-2 overall on the season. With the loss the Lancers fall to 5th place in the Sierra Valley League.



Cordova Lancers defeat El Camino 31-14

The crowd at Friday’s non-league contest between the Cordova Lancers and the visiting El Camino Eagles, watched as Cordova’s football team defeated El Camino by a score of 31-14. This marks their first win of the season after a 22-43 loss to the Bella Vista Broncos. First year coach Vince Isbell gets his first win and next week will be a challenge to see if he can repeat this feat against coach Mike Morales and the Florin Panthers.



Mitchell vs Mills

The fall sports season is underway for area schools. Fans will be cheering, students will be defending their school’s pride and on Thursday, the cross town rivalry began. Thursday, September 18th marked the first time Mills Middle School and Mitchell Middle School battled each other this year. The deciding games? Boys soccer and girls volleyball.



Wet n’ Woofy: A Splashing Success

The third annual Wet n’ Woofy organized by Gone to the Dogs was a cool way to raise money for the planned Hagan Dog Park. On Saturday at Lincoln Village pool off of Routier Road dogs of all shapes and sizes splashed, dashed, ran and swam their hearts out. The event raised another $419 towards building of the Hagan Dog Park bringing the grand total raised to date to $33,000.
