
Twin Lakes Food Bank is collecting backpacks and school supplies for students in need again this year. In 2009, 548 backpacks were needed and the goal for 2010 is an even 600. With help from the community, Twin Lakes will be able to serve under-resourced children for the coming school year.
The backpacks will contain a Payless Shoe Source (no cash back) gift card, a package of new socks, a dental kit, and a bag full of nutritious food from Raleys Food for Families program.

A house fire in Rosemont near Bradshaw is thought to have been started by a malfunctioning attic fan. The fire broke out Tuesday morning just after 9:30 a.m. on Moonbeam Drive.

A bicyclist who was found injured on a Folsom bike trail has died. 71 year old James Cramer of Sacramento had been riding with two other bicyclists when, after about 10 miles, they noticed Cramer lagging behind. After turning around to check on him, they found him laying on the bike trail.
