RCPD Officer in Accident in Sutter County

According to the California Highway Patrol, a Rancho Cordova motorcycle officer was injured on his way to work this morning in a collision with a vehicle at Highways 99 and 113, according to the California Highway Patrol.



Rancho Cordova Team is Soccer Champion

Juventus, the Rancho Cordova Soccer Club Select team for under 12 boys, was the winner of the District Cup Tournament in Woodland on December 13th. The team beat the Folsom Rangers in the C bracket with a 2-1 score. To advance to the championship game, Juventus had finished first in its league and then won its bracket in the qualifying tournament in Davis the previous weekend.

What started as an idea from one group in one neighborhood to help local students took Rancho Cordova by storm and exceeded every one’s expectations. Sure, the economy isn’t great. Some people are out of jobs. Some folks are having a hard time paying their mortgage. Christmas presents might not be as plentiful this year. The reasons not to give are numerous and well founded. But that didn’t stop Project 680 from success.



Home Front to the Front Lines Garners Local Support for Troops

Community support is all about a group of patriotic and compassionate people who either work or live in the same place. The Army National Guard of California protects our state. One of the state’s 200 locations is in our own backyard. The support group formed to provide a portal for the community that surrounds the C-Co 1168 Medevac unit to show them just how much we appreciate what they do for our community, our state, and now our nation.



Larry Canfield Family Fundraiser

The Rancho Cordova Police Department and the Sacramento Sheriff’s Department are heading a fundraising event that will benefit the family of fallen officer, Larry Canfield. On Wednesday, December 17, 2008, Round Table Pizza at 10375 Folsom Blvd will be donating 25% of its daily profits to the fund. Additional donations can be made for the family, just see the restaurant for details.
