County Animal Shelter’s Nonprofit Affiliate, TEAM, to Host First Annual Whiskers and Wine Fundraiser

As part of an effort to raise much needed funds for the Sacramento County Animal Shelter, Teaching Everyone Animals Matter (TEAM), the animal shelter’s non-profit partner, is sponsoring the first annual “Whiskers and Wine” fundraising event at the Animal Shelter, located at 3839 Bradshaw Road, from 6 to 9:30 p.m. on Sept. 25.

“We are pleased to be hosting this first-time event at the Animal Shelter to increase our visibility within the community, and to raise funds to make our animal shelter more self sufficient,” said Interim Animal Shelter Director Carl Simpson. “This is going to be a great opportunity for community members to come out and see our animal shelter, while enjoying some great food and drinks, live music, a silent auction and much more.”

Tickets for this event are $20 in advance and $25 at the door. All proceeds go to support the Sacramento County Animal Shelter’s Save our Shelter (S.O.S) campaign. For information on how to purchase tickets in advance, please go to the shelter’s website or email the Animal Shelter at

“TEAM has always been dedicated to raising funds that are used to promote the health and welfare of shelter animals and animals in the community,” said Pat Wilcox, TEAM Chair. “This is another great opportunity for us to help the S.O.S Save our Shelter campaign generate much needed funds for animal shelter operations.

TEAM was established 1997 to assist the Sacramento County animal shelter with funding assistance for medical and volunteer care programs dedicated to curtailing pet overpopulation and improving the adoption prospects of shelter animals.
