Walgreens Welcomes Community to Celebrate 1st Anniversary with a Carnival

The Walgreens store at 4050 Sunrise Blvd. near the Anatolia neighborhood in Rancho Cordova is celebrating its 1st Birthday on August 14th. To celebrate the store is having a carnival August 14th at Eagles Nest Park from 11-3 pm. They will be joined by Jamba Juice and have things like hot dogs, snow cones, cotton candy, kids games, face painting, children’s ID pictures & more.

Meet the Candidates: Paul Tassinari

Paul Tassinari, 44 years old, is a longtime resident of the Rancho Cordova area. He was born at Mather Air Force Base and raised in Rancho Cordova. His father was a 24 year veteran of the Air Force who served at Mather Field. Paul and his wife Rohana and two sons Adam and Amir live in the Meadows neighborhood North of Folsom Blvd.

Four Candidates File for Two Open City Council Seats in Rancho Cordova

Friday, August 6th at 5pm was the deadline for candidates for City Council in Rancho Cordova to file their paperwork to run for office. According to Rancho Cordova City Clerk Mindy Cuppy four residents have filed to seek office in the Fall on November 2, 2010. There are two open seats up for election on the city council this year. The other three seats will be up for election in 2012.

If strength is indeed found in numbers, then last Wednesday’s event by the Rancho Cordova Alliance of Neighborhoods (RCAN) to welcome newly installed RCPD Chief Doug Diamond was a good example. The event, attended by representatives from eight Rancho neighborhoods including Anatolia, Sunriver, Cap Village, Lincoln Village, Stonecreek, La Loma, Sunridge, and Cordova Towne welcomed Diamond as their guest speaker. Diamond took questions on a wide range of subjects, including the effects of the ongoing budget impacts to patrols, crime statistics, and the role of the Problem Oriented Police (POP) program.
