Weekend Activities Include Woofstock and Celebration of Faith
The dog days of summer are coming to a close, but that doesn’t mean the fun with your favorite canine needs to end. Woofstock in Rocklin will celebrate your pooch with both dog-friendly and people friendly activities. If you like the twang of country music, Country in the Park, hosted by radio station 105.1 KNCI brings some of the hottest artists in country music to Sacramento. Families are invited out to Stone Creek Community Park to watch “Up” on Saturday evening at dark. On Sunday evening, join other people of faith in Rancho Cordova at Village Green Park for the Rancho Cordova Celebration of Faith.
Chihuahuas to Great Danes and every dog in between will have a great time this Sunday at Woofstock in Rocklin from 9 to 2. This free event will include a 3k/5k Grateful Dog Walk/Run, live entertainment, pancake breakfast, dog costume contests and races. Participating dogs must be completely up to date on shots, be licensed and be on a leash at all times. For more information or to register for any of the events, please see the official website.
Country music fans have been looking forward to this Sacramento concert all summer long. KNCI’s Country in the Park concert will feature Dierks Bentley, Jack Ingram, the Eli Young Band, Whiskey Dawn, and Sunny Sweeney. This year, the concert will be held on Sunday at the Capital Mall between 3rd and 7th streets, downtown. Tickets are $24 before the show and $28 the day of the show.
Stone Creek Community Park in Rancho Cordova will be the venue for a free family movie. “Up” will begin at dark and all children must be accompanied by a parent. Remember to bring blankets or lawn chairs and snack foods to keep the family happy.
