“Our All-America City application demonstrated our great pride in our community, the diversity of our civic life, and the vigor and breadth of our community’s proactive and generous compassion,” said Rancho Cordova Mayor Ken Cooley.
Rancho Cordova was named a 2010 All-America City in June. The highly coveted All-America City award was established by the National Civic League of America in 1949 to recognize cities with outstanding civic participation. Although it was one of the newest cities in the competition, Rancho Cordova has responded to and developed strong relationships with the many segments in its community. It was lauded for its community involvement and support of problem-solving partnerships.
“Winning the All-America title is a very sweet happening and what better way to celebrate than with All American ice cream socials,” commented Rancho Cordova Mayor Ken Cooley. “We have scheduled them at five different locations and times so that it will be convenient for almost everyone in our community to attend a celebration.”
