Former CHS Principal, Jacquelyn Levy, Elected to Sacramento County Board of Education

New officers were elected at the July 6, 2010, meeting of the Sacramento County Board of Education.

The Board elected Trustee Harold Fong to serve as Board President. Mr. Fong, the previous Vice President, is a resident of the Pocket area of Sacramento County. He has served as Area 7 Trustee since June 2000. Mr. Fong is a Program Manager for the California Department of Health Care Services and previously served two terms as Board Vice President. He also has served as chair of the Policy Committee and on the Budget Committee. Area 7 represents the communities of Freeport, Fruitridge, Greenhaven, Meadowview, Oak Park, Parkway, Pocket, and portions of Airport, South Land Park, and Valley Hi.

Suspect Arrested in Fatal Rancho Cordova Shooting

Rancho Cordova Police responded to the calls of a reported shooting at 4:46 a.m. Saturday morning. They found 22 year old Damien Burkholder lying in a walkway between apartment buildings. He was transported to the hospital where he was pronounced dead.

The Rio del Oro Project would permit a mixed-use development on approximately 3,828 acres in Rancho Cordova. Buildout of the Project would be split into five phases and is anticipated to occur over a 25- to 30-year period. The Project provides for construction of approximately 11,601 residential dwelling units in three residential land use classifications on 1,872.5 acres.
