Support Local Students with the Twin Lakes Food Bank Back 2 School Drive

Twin Lakes Food Bank is collecting backpacks and school supplies for students in need again this year. In 2009, 548 backpacks were needed and the goal for 2010 is an even 600. With help from the community, Twin Lakes will be able to serve under-resourced children for the coming school year.

The backpacks will contain a Payless Shoe Source (no cash back) gift card, a package of new socks, a dental kit, and a bag full of nutritious food from Raleys Food for Families program.

Donations of backpacks and school supplies can be dropped off at Twin Lakes Food Bank, 327 Montrose Drive, Folsom or at 9267 Greenback Lane, Orangevale. If you’re not able to pick out a backpack or school supplies by July 27 , consider making a financial donation so Twin Lakes can purchase supplies that they run out of. You can also mail checks to P.O. Box 743, Folsom, California, 95763.

Twin Lakes Food Bank has created lists of the supplies needed for each age group. Aside from purchasing a new backpack and school supplies, there are lots of things you can do to support the Back 2 School program. Organize a drive for backpacks, school supplies or socks at your workplace or church.

Remember, all donated items should be new. If you would like more information on how you can become involved in the Back 2 School program, please contact Twin Lakes Food Bank.  Twin Lakes serves the communities of Orangevale, Granite Bay, Folsom and El Dorado Hills.
