County Animal Care Facility Adjusts Hours for Shelter Operations

Beginning Thursday, July 1, the County Animal Shelter will adjust its hours of operation in an effort to maintain efficiencies and to continue to provide the best services possible to the public.

“We are still going to be open five days a week, including both weekend days when we get the most visitors to the shelter,” said Interim Animal Shelter Director Carl Simpson. “We are making changes to our operations and staff to operate within our budget.”

The new shelter hours are:

Monday: Closed
Tuesday: Closed
Wednesday: 12:30 p.m. – 5:30 p.m.
Thursday: 12:30 p.m. – 5:30 p.m.
Friday: 12:30 p.m. – 5:30 p.m.
Saturday: Noon – 4:30 p.m.
Sunday: Noon – 4:30 p.m.

“As before, people will still be able to search online for their lost pets that may have come into the shelter and check out animals for adoptions,” added Simpson.

The County Animal Shelter is located at 3839 Bradshaw Road. For more information about the shelter, or to get information about low cost spay/neuter services, animal licensing, rabies clinics, or general shelter information, call 916-368-7387 or visit the shelter’s official website.
