Police Seeking Help in Identifying Del Taco Attempted Robbery Suspect
Detectives for the Sacramento County Sheriff’s Department are seeking any information about the identity of a suspect connected to an attempted robbery at the Del Taco located at 9152 Kiefer Boulevard.
The attempted robbery occurred at 4 p.m. on Feb. 21, when a man walked into the Del Taco, ordered food and asked to speak to a manager, Sheriff’s Spokesman Tim Curran said. When the manager approached, the suspect allegedly pointed a handgun at the manager and demanded money. The manager ran behind the counter, Curran said, and the suspect fled without getting any money.
The suspect is described as a black male in his 20s, 5-feet-10-inches tall and 180 pounds. The suspect was also noted as being clean shaven and having an unknown tattoo on the right side of his neck; at the time of the attempted robbery, he was wearing a black beanie and sunglasses.
Anyone with information regarding the identity of the suspect can call detectives at (916) 874-5115 or contact Crime Alert at (916) 443-HELP. Tipsters can also text their tip to 274637 (CRIMES) and enter SACTIP followed by the tip information. Callers can remain anonymous and may be eligible for a reward of up to $1,000, Curran said.
