New Logo, Renewed Focus, and Amazing Local Sponsors

We would like to say Thank You to our valued Marketing Partners for their support of local news media. Without their sponsorship we wouldn’t be able to provide you, our readers, with the best local coverage of “News, Events, and Things to Do” in the Rancho Cordova area.

You may have noticed a new logo with our updated tagline, “Local News, Events, and Things to Do”. This change in logo reflects our renewed focus not only on news, but also on events and entertainment, as these are vital components of building community and quality of life.

In addition to covering news, events and entertainment, we’ve invested in community in another way by forming a partnership to provide local businesses with a way to better connect to the community and provide a resource for our readers to find the best of everything local.

The new partnership has resulted in the launch of ShopRanchoCordova.com which is a online marketplace where businesses, non-profits, community organizations, and locals can share information, shop locally, learn about events, and save money through things like coupons and gift certificates. This isn’t just another business listing site, it’s an online community of locally owned businesses working to promote all that is great about local business.

Last week we covered the Resurgence in Locally Owned Businesses and the growing movement of Shop Local, Buy Local. This local first movement can be seen in other areas as well. Many people are recognizing that locally grown and organic foods are not only healthy and nutritious, but affordable and accessible too. Urban farms like Soil Borne Farms can provide fresh fruits and vegetables as well as resources for growing your own food. Websites like Local Harvest provide a easy link to locally grown foods and low cost family friendly events near you. That’s just some “food for thought” for the next time you’re on your way to the fast food restaurant.

Without great local businesses and business owners we would be missing a major component of a vital and vibrant community. With that, I’d like to recognize some of our new and continuing Marketing Partners for their support.
