Rancho Cordova Chamber of Commerce to Recognize Newest Board Members and Local Homeless Shelter at Annual Celebration

The Rancho Cordova Chamber of Commerce  may be known for their informative luncheons, their ribbon cuttings and their support of local business. What many people might not know about the Chamber is that they are just as suited for networking events as they are for a fun night out. In this case, the Chamber will be hosting their Annual Celebration at Cordova Restaurant and Casino located at 2801 Prospect Park Dr. ”We are excited to welcome the newest restaurant to Rancho Cordova, the Cordova Restaurant and Casino, who are generously hosting the evening’s festivities”, says Jane Daly, Chamber CEO.

Join the Rancho Cordova Chamber of Commerce on February 11th  from 5 to 8 pm. The event will feature dinner, a live auction, raffle, and an optional poker tournament. Sandcastle Images will also show a video of the Chamber highlights from 2009.

Along with the other festivities of the evening, the Chamber will be installing their newest officers: Beth Walter of McNellis Partners, Brandon Ivie of Heritage Community Credit Union, Celeste Lemen of Pearson, David Sander of Sander and Associates, Heather Pollock of Atlas Disposal Industries, Norman Fong of CA Northstate College of Pharmacy, Terrence McNamara of CC Myers, Jerry Mayberry or Republic Services/Allied Waste and Tim Hemmen, the incoming Board Chair. The board members will be installed by Assemblymember Alyson Huber.

The Chamber will also be recognizing a very important organization in our community, St. John’s Shelter. A part of the proceeds from the event will be donated to the shelter that has recently topped news headlines when they took on the program to provide winter housing for the homeless in the empty bungalows near the Mather air field. As an organization that focuses on the community, “ The Rancho Cordova Chamber is proud to help support the work that St. John’s Shelter does in the community by donating a portion of the evening’s proceeds to their cause”, Daly says.

In addition to housing homeless women and families in the Mather bungalows, St. John’s Shelter helps women overcome crisis through programs focused on one on one case management and personal development. Through weekly and monthly goals, community service, various classes and counseling, St. John’s has been serving women and their families since the 1980′s.

The event will be limited to 120 guests, so those who would like to attend are encouraged to make their reservation as soon as possible. For any questions or for more information about the installation dinner, please call the Chamber at 273-5688.
