What’s New at Body Investment Studio?

Body Investment Studio has some exciting new classes for 2010 designed to accommodate all levels, from beginners to the advanced, from those who want to sweat off over indulgences of the holidays to those who want to gently restore and stretch their mind and bodies. Body Investment Studio’s classes are designed to incorporate poses and flows that enhance flexibility, strengthen muscles, improve circulation, detoxify your system and offer a new outlook on life. Above and beyond, they’re fun!

Restorative Yoga with Summer every Tuesday at 11:15am (All Levels Class)

Restorative yoga focuses on alignment and relaxation. Restorative Yoga is the Yin (stillness) to the Yang of  Vinyasa Yoga (movement). Summer will guide you on how to use props like blocks, blankets, and straps in order to help increase your flexibility and hold your poses longer. Summer’s Restorative yoga class is designed for all levels, and is ideal for beginners, Boomers, and those looking for a balance to their dynamic workouts.

What’s new for Mom?

Vinyasa Flow: Music and Movement with Gina, Thursday Mornings at 9:30am. (All Levels Class)

Music and Movement is an amazing Vinyasa practice incorporating a dynamic flow with breath and rhythm. Teacher Gina spent a large part of her life sharing the news of the day as a journalist. Not long after giving birth to her third son, she decided to choose a path that would allow her to bring more grace to her family life, and to those she crosses paths with every day. What Gina knows is that yoga makes her happy, and that practicing yoga opens her heart to a world of joy. As a mother of 3 young boys, Gina also has a heart for her fellow moms and wants to help provide a little yoga balance to their hectic lives.

What’s new for those who work 7am-4pm?

4pm Mat Pilates & 5pm Vinyasa Yoga with Daidre ever Thursday (All Levels Class)

Mat Pilates is an ideal low-impact core strengthening class. The focus is on toning the abs, arms, and thighs. Daidre has been teaching and practicing Pilates and yoga for over a decade. She began practicing Pilates 10 years ago after an accident left her with a neck injury. She found that Pilates was a wonderful implementation into her life, because she was able to stabilize her neck and strength her core while healing. With the help of Pilates Daidre was able to recover from her injury and become more active; she began practicing yoga in addition to Pilates and fell in love with Vinyasa Yoga. She is a certified yoga and Pilates teacher, and off her mat she is a Registered Nurse.

Visit www.bodyinvestmentstudio.com for a complete list of class descriptions and times. We look forward to practicing with you and watching your yoga practice develop and grow.

As a working mom, I was able to take Gina’s class and it was PERFECT! I dropped the kids off, headed to class, got a GREAT workout and bounced right into to work, FULL OF ENERGY. Highly recommend this class, and the studio, it’s beautiful!

I found the Body Investment Studios when I was just 2 months pregnant. I am currently expecting my first child and am really concern about the pains of labor and delivery. I was then hopeful to find a studio that offers prenatal yoga to help me prepare for the big day – instead I found this studio. Though they do not have yoga classes specific to pregnant women, I found every session to be helpful as the instructor modifies the poses for me as needed. I especially love the hip openers, which helps with the usual back pains that come with pregnancy. I am now almost 7 months pregnant and will continue to practice until the end of my pregnancy and after delivery because I know its valuable benefits to my health!
