Rangers Catch Alleged Rossmoor Car Burglars
Park rangers caught a lucky break in their investigation of a car burglary at the Rossmoor Access to the American River Parkway, the November Ranger Activity Report said.
The suspects allegedly stole the victim’s credit cards, and when the victim called to cancel her cards, she was advised that her credit card was being used at a Wal Mart and Costco nearby. Rangers responded and detained three suspects at the Costco.
The report said that within an hour of the burglary, the suspects had already created a fake driver’s license, and the suspects were using the credit card to purchase big-screen TVs when they were detained. Their arrest, the report said, solved several burglaries that had been under investigation.
Rangers also reported 40 citations or arrests, including:
- Two warrant arrests, one parolee-at-large
- One possession of less than 1 ounce of marijuana
- One reckless evasion by a motorcyclist on the trail
- One battery from a man on a bicycle who hit a pedestrian and told her to “get off the trail”
- Three car burglaries: One at Harrington, one at Rossmoor and one at Upper Sunrise
