Rancho Cordova Crime Report: Dec. 15 – Dec. 22

The following police reports were filed between 12/15/2009 and 12/22/2009:

  • 12/15/09: Sean Rodriguez, 19, was arrested on suspicion of robbery on Coloma Road. The police report states a witness saw two suspects allegedly hit the victim over the head and knock him to the ground. The witness stopped to intervene and the suspects fled. The witness was able to keep the suspect in the area until deputies arrived. The victim was transported to the hospital but did not want to press charges.
  • 12/16/09: Lauron Williams, 35, was arrested on suspicion of inflicting corporal injury on a spouse, endangering the health of a child and domestic violence on Applegate Drive. According to the police report, the suspect allegedly grabbed the victim by the throat and choked her. The suspect also allegedly threatened to kill the victim and struck the victim with his fist. The second victim, a minor, attempted to help the victim as was allegedly struck by the suspect several times.
  • 12/16/09: Joshua Mize, 30, was arrested on suspicion of inflicting corporal injury on a cohabitant and parole violation on Malaga Way. The police report states the suspect allegedly grabbed the victim by the hair and punched her in the face, neck and head several times, then allegedly kicked the bedroom door open to continue an argument with the victim. The victim walked outside and the suspect was placed into custody.
  • 12/16/09: A man is being sought in connection with an assault with a deadly weapon and the endangerment of the health of a child on Routier Road. The police report states the suspect allegedly pointed a firearm at the victim, who was holding their 10-month-old baby at the time. The victim placed the baby in the rear seat of her car and walked away. The suspect then allegedly chased the victim to an apartment and allegedly struck the victim once in the side of her face. The suspect then allegedly fired one round at the victim, but the bullet did not hit her, and the suspect fled on foot. The suspect is described as a black male age 22, 6 feet tall and 165 pounds with black hair and brown eyes.
  • 12/18/09: Danny Williams, 23, was arrested on suspicion of brandishing an imitation firearm, burglary, threatening to commit a crime that would result in death or bodily injury and probation violation at Raley’s, located at 10835 Folsom Boulevard. The suspect allegedly put five bottles of tequila in a basket and attempted to exit the store without paying for the items. The suspect was then approached by a security guard and clerk, and the suspect allegedly threatened to kill the security guard and stated he had a gun. The victim fled and the suspect exited the store before being detained by deputies. Deputies located a plastic replica handgun nearby.
  • 12/19/09: A robbery and assault with a deadly weapon was reported at a Shell gas station located at 9199 Folsom Boulevard. The police report states three suspects entered the business armed with handguns and forced the store clerk to open the cash drawers to obtain money. The suspects also pointed a gun at a customer and ordered him to lay on the floor. The three suspects are described as black males; two are 5-feet-6-inches tall and the third is 5-feet-9-inches tall.
  • 12/21/09: Charles Smith, 27, was arrested on suspicion of inflicting corporal injury on a cohabitant on Data Drive. The suspect allegedly punched the victim several times in the head, face and stomach, and allegedly pushed the victim into a sliding closet mirror, causing the mirror to break. The suspect then allegedly grabbed the victim by the hair and pulled the victim outside the residence and locked the door. Deputies arrived and detained the suspect without incident.

    The crime reports are growing but when you talk to local politicians or listen to the lcoal meida they claim a decline of crime through our suffering economy. Just by subscribing and reading your crime reports any reader can see crime on Rancho Cordova is on the rise and there needs to be an article on addressing this in our city.
