Firefighter Killed in Wreck on White Rock Road

Michael Adams, 49, an off-duty firefighter for the Sacramento Fire Department, was killed on Thursday in an accident on White Rock Road near Prairie City Road, CHP reported.

The El Dorado Hills resident was travelling eastbound in his Ford Mustang through Rancho Cordova when he lost control of his vehicle and the vehicle began to flip, CHP said. The vehicle narrowly missed hitting a 2004 Acura driven by a 55-year-old woman, then struck the front of a 1995 Chevrolet pickup driven by a 47-year-old man before flipping over the truck and landing on the side of the road.

Adams was pronounced dead at the scene, and the 47-year-old man driving the truck was transported to the hospital with “moderate injuries,” CHP said.

Officials say alcohol was not a factor in the accident, and the Mustang will be inspected for any mechanical defects.
