Rancho Cordova Sees Smattering of Snow
Chilly winter weather has made its way in to the Sacramento area. The day after Thanksgiving brought rain and residents were even more surprised to find the ground littered in hail. At the annual Rancho Cordova Christmas Tree Lighting, community members were delighted to kick off the holiday season with a snow shower courtesy of Santa’s elves and numerous Cordova Community Council volunteers.
With weather forecasters predicting freezing, wet and even snowy weather for the beginning of the week, many residents woke up to a thin blanket of snow this morning. Rancho Cordova students were still required to attend school, but many other school districts issued a snow day due to perilous driving conditions and street closures.
Weather Monday night is predicted to get even colder and residents are encouraged to bring pets inside, take necessary precautions to protect plants from frigid temeratures, and exercise caution when driving, as roads are expected to be icy.
