Message from Chief Meeks Regarding Homicide Behind Ross

Tragically, a man was murdered late Saturday evening in the alley behind the shopping center at Zinfandel Drive and Folsom Blvd. This homicide was not directly related to the shopping center. The information developed so far indicates it invoved a dispute that began outside of Rancho Cordova but ended here.

I want shoppers to feel safe while they are in Rancho Cordova.  As part of our continuing efforts to reduce crime in Rancho Cordova, including the shopping center at Zinfandel and Folsom Blvd., we will soon institute our “12 Days of Christmas” program.  Started in 2006, this crime-prevention program assigns four extra officers to patrol the retail corridors during peak shopping hours. The officers focus on Folsom Blvd., Olson Drive, and Sunrise Blvd.
