The Marketplace at Birdcage will be the site of “dog-gone good prices” at book sale and holiday boutique event held by the Sacramento SPCA Dec. 3 through Dec. 6.

Sacramento SPCA’s thrift store is located in the marketplace and will be the site of the holoiday boutique for the four-day event. The book sale, which will feature thousands of new and used books in 5 categories, will be located across from their thrift store. All of the proceeds will benefit animals under the shelter’s care.

The book sale is one of the largest in Northern California and is held semi-annually by the shelter. Categories at the book sale include mystery, science fiction, cooking, children and teens, biography, holiday specialty books, large print, romance and more.

The SSPCA thrift store is located at 6123 Sunrise Boulevard, next to Starbucks in the Marketplace. The book sale will be located at 6187 Sunrise Boulevard, next to CVS Pharmacy. The sale hours will be 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. Thursday through Saturday and 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Sunday.

I’ll definitely be stopping by too. My two favorite things — books and thrift stores — in one spot!
