Police Seek Help with 2008 Edward Chaney Homicide Investigation
A year-long homicide investigation is still unsolved, and the Sacramento County Sheriff’s Department is asking the public for any information about the murder.
On Nov. 9, 2008, Edward Lowell Chaney II, then 52, was shot multiple times while in his duplex on the 9000 block of Salmon Falls Drive shortly before 6 p.m. Neighbors who had come to visit him saw him lying motionless on the floor through a window, according to a 2008 statement from the Sheriff’s Department.
Police also said they are seeking information from anyone who had contact with the victim between 8 a.m. and 6 p.m. on that day.
“Anyone with information is urged to call Sheriff’s Homicide detectives at (916) 874-5115,” said Sheriff’s spokesman Tim Curran in a statement today.
