A Rancho Cordova elementary school was the latest victim in a string of recent playground fires. Only 2 weeks ago, a play structure in La Riviera suffered a disappointing fate as a fire demolished the neighborhood playground.
The fire at Williamson Elementary School, located on Benita Drive, began around 6:00 Sunday morning. Authorities say the fire destroyed a rock climbing wall and a bench. Firefighters were able to successfully contain the fire before any more damage was done to other playground structures.
Authorities have not yet said if the fire is believed to have been set intentionally.

This is terrible I can’t believe people are burning down playgrounds! Someone needs to find these people and take a 2×4 to them.
That’s too bad.
It’s a really sad situation for all the families that spend time in these parks. If anyone knows anything about this, or other recent fires, please contact the police.
Maybe we need cameras installed at some of these parks to catch whomever is starting these fires.
