Niello Concours at Serrano Announces Winners’ Circle
The Niello Concours at Serrano, an event held by the Concours Foundation from Gold River, announced the winners circle from their event in El Dorado Hills on Oct. 4.
Over 20 luxury cars were crowned winners of their class and 12 more won numerous awards, including the Best of Show Award given to Howard Clarke of Springville, Calif. for his 1947 Jaguar Mark IV. The full list of winners, along with pictures, can be found on the Niello Concours website.
This year’s event focused on all things Italian — food, music and wine from Italy, as well as an abundance of Ferraris, filled the Serrano Visitor’s Center. The event also held a fashion show and a complimentary cigar and cognac lounge, giving visitors a plethora of attractions to see.
Chris Provo’s 1980 BMW M-1 won the Class L title for exotics through 1987, and Provo said his car is undefeated in the competitions he has entered. “This is my last event of the season,” he said. ”I do five to six events a season.”
Provo said his $250,000 car is unique because there are so few of them in the U.S. “There’s less than 75,” he said. ”They only produced 456 worldwide, and my car was one of 25 that came into California that was legal.”
His BMW also has a famous past, Provo said: It was once owned by singer Christopher Cross, who penned such classics as “Sailing” and “Ride Like the Wind.”
The next Niello Concours at Serrano will be held Oct. 3, 2010, and the show will be celebrating the British Marques.

What a great event- especially with the Italian theme. You can never have too much Italian food, wine or cars.
