Folsom Cordova Community Partnership – Volunteering!
The mission of the Folsom Cordova Community Partnership is to mobilize and integrate resources that enhance the education, health and well being of the children and families of our community. It is with this mission in mind that we are reaching out to the community to come support our organization by spending just a little time volunteering.
Our new “Partner Up” volunteer program encompasses all the programs we have here and allows the community to get involved in each one, depending on interest. We have set our goals high because we believe in the community and their desire to improve it. Our mentoring program, Roots and Horizons, is just one of the many that we need volunteers for.
Last week in the mentoring world we set up a contest to see which one of our current mentors could get any of their friends to come and sign up to be one. We want to send out a special thanks to Karen Lopez who got one of her friends to come in and join our program and received a $25 gift certificate to Evangeline’s Costume Mansion! Just in time for Halloween!
There is also an awesome photo scavenger hunt going on with our Mentor-Mentee matches throughout the whole month of October. The pairs have to take pictures with certain landmarks and people throughout the community and turn them in to us. The match that has the most pictures wins a special prize, courtesy of one of the many community businesses we are partnered with.
These are just a few of the things that make our mentoring program so much fun! If you would like to hear more about this program or any others at the Folsom Cordova Community Partnership, come on in or give us a call at 916-361-8684. We would love to hear from you!
