New York Bagel and Cafe; The Difference is in the Cupcakes

The Target renovation might have been disastrous for the many small business located in the shopping center off Olson Drive. The many new restaurants and eateries opening in Captital Village might have put a damper on sales for already established restaurants in other locations.

In fact, in the volatile world of owning a restaurant, there are plenty of concerns to spend sleepless nights pondering. The owners of New York Bagel and Cafe do things a little differently, however, and the difference is in the quality of their food and their outstanding customer service.

The family run restaurant offers a plethora of delicious goodies. Their bagels are amazing and baked right there in the shop. The list of specialty cream cheese spreads make an already great bagel outstanding. With a dozen or more bagel choices, and just as many cream cheese selections, repeat customers can be as creative, or as conservative with their breakfast selection as they’d like.

New York Bagel and Cafe also offers fruit cups, salads, and baked goods such as brownies made from scratch. If bagels aren’t your cup of tea, or rather, specialty coffee- as the cafe also boasts a wide selection of caffeine loaded beverages, breakfast sandwiches that include egg and breakfast meat are available for those with a little heartier appetite.

Lunchtime is generally pretty busy, but excellent customer service ensures that you’ll be back to work with time to spare. All of the meats and cheeses for the deli style sandwiches are sliced daily. The newly baked rolls are perfect for sandwiches, soft and chewy surrounded by just enough crunch to compliment the always fresh produce.

The newest addition to the New York Bagel and Cafe menu will satisfy those with the most discerning sweet tooth. Cupcake Craving, a specialty cupcake shop out of the Arden area, has recently teamed up with the folks at New York Bagel and Cafe to provide the most delectable cupcakes in the city. The cupcake menu changes daily, as the most popular cupcakes are currently being showcased four or five flavors at a time.

Ordering cupcakes is convenient too. If you’d like to special order cupcakes, you can do so for as many cupcakes in as many flavors as you’d like, and the cupcakes will be ready and waiting for you to pick them up the very next day. A hit with birthday parties, Cupcake Craving is now making it even easier for the Rancho Cordova community to celebrate with style. A red velvet bit of deliciousness topped with cream cheese frosting doesn’t hurt, either.

Owners Tim Knuc and Van Thai know the secret to a successful business. “I only want to sell quality products”, Knuc says. Customers can taste the quality in their freshly made bagels and sandwiches and have been coming back for ten years. Why the addition of cupcakes to the already delicious menu? “I tried them once and I was hooked”, Tim Knuc says.

If you’d like to try out the new cupcake line, or sample a New York Bagel and Cafe staple, visit them at 10929 Olson Drive. Or call at (916) 631-9509. I highly recommend the cinnamon bagel with apple cinnamon cream cheese.

I have spent many good times eating inside on cold days and outside at the bistro tables with friends and family. I even have wonderful photos with my mother, who passed away several years ago. I treasure the memories, laughter and good conversation shared around their delish bagels and great coffee!! Excellent customer service has always been their top priority…beside the great food!!!

  2. You had me at “cupcakes”. Can’t wait to go in and try them!
