Sac Metro Fire to Hold Donation Bins for Military Care Packages Through Nov. 6
Sacramento Metro Fire District will be collecting donations for the Sacramento Blue Star Moms now through Nov. 6 at select fire stations, including two Rancho Cordova stations, to send in care packages for military personnel and their families.
Sacramento Blue Star Moms is a local chapter of the Blue Star Mothers of America, a non-profit organization that brings military families together in support of the troops. Blue Star Moms is collecting items for care packages that they will be sending to deployed military personnel.
Blue Star Moms has a list of donation suggestions that ranges from candy and games to dental supplies and toiletries. The group also says theyalso welcome cards and letters to be given to the troops.
The fire stations located at 10595 Folsom Boulevard and 11201 Coloma Road are donation drop-off stations; check here for a complete list of all fire stations accepting donations.

Are there volunteer positions in which I may serve? I have nothing to give, but my time, effort and loyalty to our American troops who keep us safe and free. God bless and protect them all.
Thank you for the wonderful comment. I believe you can call Blue Star Moms at (916) 765-9715 or email them at support@sacramentobluestarmoms.org. I’m sure they would love to have more people volunteer for the cause!
