Rancho Cordovans Celebrate at the Capitol
The Rancho Cordova Storyteller Task Force answered the call-to-flashlighting the Capitol, energizing the California Birthday Extravaganza and the thirst for knowledge. Rancho Cordova’s Home Depot “Orange Embrace” and Walmart helped as sponsors in support of the national mission “Bring Home The Spirit of History.” Here, residents hold the award flag to distinguish Rancho Cordova as one of fifty cities leading the ALTA CALIFORNIA 2009 CULTURE CAPITAL OFAMERICA. (Alta “Upper” California Province in 1769 was established by Spain). Cities and counties statewide began are flying the 2009 Culture Capital of America flag for California Birthday Sept. 9, 2009 through October, authorized by the California Legislature and Congress H.Res. 287 AMERICA for the nation celebration.
The Rancho Cordova Storyteller Task Force is being formed by Golden State History Education Fund to increase learning by celebrating the America500 Birthday (2007-12) naming in geography and science to reverse the decline of youth knowledge in history and science. The 2010 Edition goal is to engage local residents to champion “Horsepower” celebrations for the Pony Express 150th Anniversary.

Good to hear of the interest in Celebrating the 150th Celebration of the Founding of the Pony Express! The National Pony Express Association will do a Re-run of the XP from San Francisco to St Joseph, Mo. in June 2010. The Route will be by water from SF to Sacramento, and overland by horse and rider relay from there. The XP Rider
