Lunch Spots: Mints Euro-Asian Restaurant

There are many things I take into account when I’m doing write-up for a restaurant. Location, presentation, food, and cost are just a few of the categories I consider for my fellow restaurant goers. Well folks, I have to say that even though I have just scratched the surface of the restaurants in Rancho Cordova, I have never had an experience before like the one I had today.

Mints restaurant located at 11088 Olson Drive was to die for. I have never seen such a diverse menu and the food….oh, the food.  Presented to me was not just some white rice and shrimp: It was a mountain of garlic noodles surrounded by butterfly-cut oversized shrimp, marinated in fresh garlic black pepper then pan grilled.  It was a culinary masterpiece on a plate. You are not just served food – anyone can serve food – you are served visual art. With yellows, greens, reds, and oranges you might be tempted to just stare at the beauty of what has just been delivered to you, but I encourage you to pick up your fork and take a bite.  Fresh, crisp, sweet, sour, tangy, and juicy is just some of what I experienced with my meal.

Michelle and Daniel have been the owner of Mints Restaurant featuring Euro Asian Cuisine for 10 years and their establishment is something to be proud of. With fast service for those of you who have only 30 minutes for their lunch and want fresh food to fill your tummy, I strongly recommend Mints for your next lunch or dinner before they move locations. For those who are already familiar with Mints, do not fear; Their new home will be 3101 Zinfandel Drive #130 in Rancho Cordova.

I was presented several dishes but the one dish that made the biggest impact on me was the grapefruit salad. Shredded red cabbage, jicama, glazed walnuts and thai basil all tossed with Mints’ house soy vinaigrette and decorated with grapefruit was the most delightful surprise I’ve had in a long time. This salad is light, fresh and saturated in spices.  With the price of $8, this generous portion of salad will easily fill your stomach for lunch and also makes a great appetizer for a dinner party.

Great service and great food at a great price is what Mints is all about. Give Mints a visit and let me know what you think. I would love to hear some feedback from my fellow Rancho Cordova community.
