Formaggio Restaurant Offers Live Music and Fine Dining Through August

Formaggio Taverna and Patio is continuing their live music through the month of August. The Live Jazz Series is held on Friday nights, from 6 to 9 p.m. In addition to hot jazz bands, guests may enjoy an assortment of free appetizers, $4 drink specials and an amazing menu and wine list.

The Live Jazz Series is showcased on the outdoor patio and will host the musical styling of such bands as La Descarga, a Cuban Jazz and Salsa band on August 7th and August 14th. Criminals of Love will be playing their Jazz and Blues numbers on the evening of August 21st. Completing the month of August, hotel guests and locals can enjoy Nagual, a Latin Jazz group entertaining diners with their upbeat tempo on August 28th.

Nagual are long time members of the Formaggio patio scene. They played at Formaggio on Friday, July 31st and will be back again on the 28th of August. Band members Harold Muniz, Ron Ochoa, Victor Contreras, Scott Anderson, and Paul Relvas have been playing at the Formaggio for about a year and keep coming back because the patio guests are always receptive and having a great time. Nagual is celebrating the release of their second CD, and will be promoting their new release at other venues throughout the Sacramento area.

With recent updates to the menu, everyone is sure to find something to please the palate. Offerings from the menu include butternut squash ravioli, grilled salmon topped with fresh tomatoes, kalamata olives, and capers, six different varieties of pizza, Tuscan chicken salad and a delectable seafood pasta. Every meal can be paired with a glass of wine and Formaggio offers an impressive wine list to satisfy even the most discerning wine enthusiast.

Outdoor patio seating and indoor restaurant style seating offer many options for the perfect dinner out or drinks after work. Formaggio guest and Rancho Cordova resident Annette Bannister spent Friday evening celebrating her birthday over drinks with her daughter. This was Annette’s second time to Formaggio and says, “I will return again because of the atmosphere and the drinks.” This is a common theme among regular Formaggio diners. “The service is always quick and the food is delicious”, said another diner. As a Nagual band member walked by she quickly added that,  ”the music is a nice addition too”.
