Rancho Resident You Should Know: Rebecca Landin
Rebecca Landin just got a facelift and she wants everyone to know it.
“I’m going to look in to the mirror and go, ‘Yeah, that’s who you are,’” Landin, who will have her second 50th birthday next year, said.
One of Landin’s loves is riding her trike, which is a specially made motorcycle with two rear wheels and a basket. An experience while riding her trike led her to the decision to get a facelift and tighten her sagging jaw line.
“The final straw was on my motorcycle,” she said. “I happened to get a glance in the rear-view mirror, and it was flapping.”
Landin is a manager for CosmoProf, a beauty supply store located at Auburn Boulevard and Madison Avenue in Sacramento. She calls Rancho Cordova home, though, and hopes one day to work in the area as well.
Landin would enjoy a career working with birds, but her health keeps her from pursuing her dream. At one point she even got a job at The Bird Shop in Sacramento, but her emphysema made it impossible for her to continue.
Landin is not native to Rancho Cordova. Her family hopped from state to state in her early years, but much of her childhood was spent on the east coast.
“I grew up in Annandale, Virginia and the last place I lived was in Arlington, Virginia,” she said. “It was in a highrise building that overlooked the Potomac River… it’s an incredible place to grow up.”
That doesn’t mean she doesn’t love life in Rancho Cordova, though; Landin’s place at Coloma Townehomes reminds her of her roots.
“I’ve been here 16 years now,” she said, and spanned the line of brick townhouses with her hand. “This is very eastern shore.”
Landin is planning on staying in the neighborhood for a long time, and for good reason too.
“This is where the beautiful people live,” she said.

Wow, I’m in print! Nice job Annie but Janice was right. I didn’t talk about Ricky and Boo- my two beautiful toy poodles. I am lucky they let me live here with them. I guess it’s cause I feed them.

I wish I could have met them! I guess it’s good I didn’t, though; I probably would have “accidentally” put them in my purse and taken them home.
No way… she’s going to have her second 50th? Am I understanding correctly, that she’s almost 100? No way! I’m sure the face lift makes her feel younger, but it sounds like her attitude and staying physically fit is what makes her look so healthy. Congratulation’s Rebecca! You go girl!
