Coloma Townehomes Celebrates National Night Out

Food, prizes and fun were all on the menu at the Coloma Townehomes’ National Night Out event on Tuesday night.

National Night Out is an event sponsored by law enforcement agencies that is designed to bring communities together and help establish or strengthen neighborhood watch programs.

Attendees of Coloma Townehomes’ event got a chance to win one of several Jamba Juice gift cards or one $50 Walmart gift card, and a full line-up of food was provided for the residents of close-knit community located on Benita Drive just off of Coloma Road.

Neighbors chatted with each other and discussed things like how the extra “e” ended up in their community’s name.

“Somehow over the last 20 years, and don’t ask me why or how, an ‘e’ got thrown in there,” resident Bud said. “How it did, I don’t know.”

Children who attended the event got to pick the raffle tickets that won prizes near the end of the event.

“Make sure you pick mine,” one parent told her daughter, who ended up picking someone else’s ticket.

All of the food and prizes for the event were donated by community members and members of the Coloma Townehomes Homeowners Association.

    To Anne Lowe,
Thanks for the wonderful article of our Natl Night Out event.
I knew you were there. You introduced yourself to me.
I didn’t think anything about it at the time.
I didn’t even know that there was a Rancho Cordova Post.

    • Susan, I’m glad you all held a NNO event and support this worthwhile effort to raise awareness for neighborhood watch groups and public safety. Please share our site with your residents so that we may cover more events such as this in the future.

      Thanks for reading.

How cool that was to meet some new friends and families in our own backyard. Thanks for the Jamba Juice card. Coloma Townehomes is great place to live because of the dedicated residents who step out and make it that way:) Thanks Sherri for your work in the past year.
