Bang. Pop. Sizzle. Support Community Groups Through Legal Fireworks Sales
Severe burns, amputations, blinding, and even deaths are some of the painful results of July 4th celebrations gone awry. With the holiday drawing close, parents especially need to have an in depth knowledge of the dangers of fireworks. Parents are liable for any damage or injuries caused by their children using fireworks, legal or otherwise. The Sacramento Metropolitan Fire District recommends a series of tips for Safe and Sane Fireworks use.
Only legal fireworks in California are called Safe and Sane Fireworks, do not be fooled by similar products. Fireworks purchased from out of state are prohibited. Safe and Sane Fireworks will bear the State Fire Marshal’s seal. Parents should always be supervising children using fireworks and should have at least one bucket of water near the area to dispose of fireworks in. The Fire Marshal also highly recommendshaving a hose connected to a water source that will reach the length to the area of firework use.
It is illegal to sale, give, or deliver fireworks to anyone under 18. No where in California is it legal for non-professionals to use fireworks that explode or leave the ground. If you decide that you want to celebrate Independence Day with legal fireworks, be sure to do so away from any dry grass or other flammable materials.
Celebrating with safety is of the utmost importance. Each group that sells fireworks in Rancho Cordova does so at a licensed Safe and Sane Fireworks dealer. Beginning June 28 and running through July 6th, community organizations will be selling fireworks at locations all over Rancho Cordova.
