The California National Guard Celebrates the U.S. Army’s Birthday and Flag Day
The California National Guard held a ceremony at its Joint Force Headquarters celebrating the U.S. Army’s 234th Birthday and Flag Day, which marked the 232nd birthday of “Old Glory,” the United States flag.
The ceremony kicked off at 10 a.m. Friday with opening remarks from the California National Guard’s Adjutant General, Maj. Gen. William H. Wade II and included speeches on the significance of both the Army’s birthday and Flag Day. Various California National Guard senior leaders were in attendance.
The ceremony began with the Color Guard carrying the official colors, the singing of the National Anthem and concluded with retiring the colors.
The ceremony was held at 9800 Goethe Road, Sacramento.
