Man Arrested in Connection With Rancho Cordova Murder

Jeffrey B. Campbell, 46, is accused of killing 19-year-old Frederick Howard. Campbell was taken into custody on Thursday, Sgt. Tim Curran said. Campbell, a Rancho Cordova resident, is believed to have know the victim.

At 10:33 a.m. Wednesday, Rancho Cordova Police Department officers responded to a report of a body that was found behind a business in the 3100 block of Fite Circle.

Upon arriving, officers found Howard’s body behind a dumpster. His body showed evidence of an upper body wound and he was pronounced dead at the scene. Investigators said they believe Campbell stabbed and killed Howard early Tuesday after arguing with him at an undetermined location in the Rancho Cordova area.

Authorities say it appears that Campbell took Howard’s body to the Fite Circle location.

Campbell faces murder charges and is being held without bail.

Anyone with any information regarding this crime is encouraged to call Crime Alert at 916-443-HELP.
