Man Fatally Shot Near Highway 50 and Folsom

Early Tuesday morning, a man was shot after having an argument with his girlfriend. Authorities were called to the 2800 block of La Quinta Drive, between Folsom Boulevard and Highway 50, East of the Watt exit, at about 5 a.m.

The 20 year old victim was found on the sidewalk near the Olive Wood Apartment complex and was pronounced dead at the scene. The victim’s girlfriend told authorities that the victim left their apartment then she heard gunshots and came outside. She said she found him lying on the sidewalk.

Detectives are searching for at least one person, though a description of the shooter is not yet available. It is believed that the suspect fled on foot.
