Pet of the Week- 50+ Rabbits

Animal ID#: A493439

In less than 24 hours 66 rabbits were brought to the Sacramento County Animal Shelter after being found neglected and abandoned. The rabbits were left with no food or water and some had medical problems. Extra cages and staff were called into the shelter to help with the overwhelming number of animals. Now, rabbits of all sizes and colors are waiting at the shelter to be adopted. Approximately 50 rabbits still need homes. These rabbits have been brought back to good health by shelter staff and are now able to show their range in personalities.

If you see a neighbor with too many animals or showing signs of neglect, please call animal control at 916-368-7387 so an animal control officer can begin an investigation and lives can be saved.
