Hazmat Crew Called to Rancho Cordova Franchise Tax Board

On Friday morning, a  hazardous materials crew was called to the Franchise Tax Board office in Rancho Cordova for a suspicious substance on an envelope.

Sacramento Metro Fire said workers discovered the white, powdery substance while they were opening tax returns. But it’s unclear if the material was inside the envelope or had simply gotten on the outside of the envelope. The area around the item has been sectioned off.

Three people complained of headaches, but nobody has been transported for medical treatment.
