Rancho Cordova Fiscal Overview and Corporate Report

The City of Rancho Cordova and the Rancho Cordova City Council will be holding a workshop covering the annual financial report for the Fiscal Year 2007-2008, mid year 2008-2009 review, projected budget strategies and options, and an analysis of community priorities in preparation for the City’s 2009-2010 budget.

The workshop will be held on Friday February 13 from 10:30 to 2p.m. at the Rancho Cordova City Hall in the American River North room (2729 Prospect Drive). The purpose of the workshop is to analyze the City’s mid year fiscal conditions as planning begins for the Fiscal year 2009-2010 budget. Despite decreased revenues, the City expects to adjust expenditures to remain balanced. It is anticipated that reserve funds will not be tapped, there will be no layoffs and no furloughs.

This workshop is specifically an analysis of the City of Rancho Cordova’s fiscal condition in preparation for the next year’s budget.  An even earlier in the day, the Economic Summit, co-hosted by City of Rancho Cordova and the Rancho Cordova Chamber of Commerce at the Sunrise Event Center (11167 Trade Center Drive), will explore larger issues that impact the region and Rancho Cordova. Starting at 7:30 a.m., it will feature Christopher Thornberg, Ph.D., a member of the California State Controller’s Council of Economic Advisors and founder of Beacon Economics, a research and consulting firm that specializes in analyses of real estate markets, local economic development, and public and private policy issues. Also speaking will be Michael Lyon, CEO of Lyon Real Estate, who will discuss the Rancho Cordova regional real estate market.
That meeting is open to the public. Please call 273-5688 for more  information.
