Mitchell Middle School Students Open Clothes Closet

The California Junior Scholarship Federation at Mitchell Middle School with the help of their advisor, Dale Waldo, have decided to help other students in need. Mr. Waldo recognized that there were students attending Mitchell that could “use a helping hand in the form of clothes”. After the idea was brought to the students of the CJSF Club, they created and are implementing a plan to sponsor and run a clothes closet.

The simple process allows for students that are in need to privately talk to Mr. Waldo to receive the clothing they need and in the near future the clothes closet will have regular hours when it will be open. Already the staff at Mitchell have made generous clothing donations to get the closet started. Clothing donations are being accepted in room 2 at Mitchell Middle School.

The California Junior Scholarship Federation is a state-wide organization of  that promotes high standards of scholarship, service, and citizenship on the part of students in California’s public and private junior high and middle schools. The group is largely geared toward academic success.

At this time, there are approximately 600 CJSF chapters through out the sate.
