Rancho Cordova Boating Outlet Closes

The 62 year old marine and water recreation merchandise company, Cope & McPhetres Marine Inc., that operates outlets in Rancho Cordova and Rocklin, is going out of business. Just over a year ago, the company had 13 stores sprinkled through the west. Officials said the company started shutting stores in the second half of last year as the impending recession took its toll on the recreational boating industry. Cope & McPhetres stores in California, Nevada and Washington sold and serviced new and used power boats.

C.C. Myers’ Controlled Companies Accept $43.9 Million Judgement

Two companies controlled by C.C. Myers have accepted a $43.9 million judgment against them. U. S. District Judge John A. Pet of the Week- Cooper

Cooper is a white and brown American bulldog. He is a little over 1 year old, neutered and ready to go home with you today. He loves being outside and behaves much better when he is outside than when he is in his kennel. This is a sure sign that he is unhappy being in a cage for most of the day and needs to be able to run around in a yard and play, or be taken for walks to get out of the house.

Hwy 50 Project- Part of the Balancing Act

The state is currently facing an historic $40 billion budget imbalance over the next 18 months. State Controller John Chiang has warned the government will run out of cash as early as February and would have to start issuing IOUs for some bills if a deficit-closing deal isn’t agreed upon before then. One controversial topic that many of us in Rancho Cordova hold dear is at odds because of the state’s environmental protection law. The proposed widening and adding of lanes and interchanges along Highway 50 has come up against harsh criticism in recent months due to environmental concerns.

VSP’s Expanded ‘Mobile Eyes’ Program is a Nationwide Benefit

The Rancho Cordova company, VSP has a unique humanitarian side. While the organization does direct their eye care service to families in need, VSP Mobile Eyes looks at eye care on a national level. VSP Mobile Eyes program traveled the country in 2008 providing over $1.8 million in charitable eyecare services and education outreach. In some area, Mobile Eyes provided response services to major disasters. The introduction of a second mobile clinic in June 2008 allowed for additional eye care resources to provide for those in need.
