Folsom Lake College Holding Auditions for Spring Play

Folsom Lake College audition press release:

The Falcon’s Eye Theatre at Folsom Lake College calls for actors from the community to audition for its spring production of the Tony Award Winning and Pulitzer Prize nominated comedy Six Degrees of Separation by John Guare.

Six Degrees of Separation is a comedy that follows the trail of a young con man, Paul, who insinuates himself into the lives of a wealthy New York couple claiming he is the son of actor Sidney Poitier, and that he has just been mugged.  Captivated by Paul’s charm, they invite him to stay overnight. But in the morning the picture begins to change. Intrigued, they turn detective and piece together the connections that gave Paul access to their lives. Meanwhile, Paul’s cons lead him into darker territory. As the final events of the play unfold they find that their once idyllic life was not what it seemed to be.

The mission of the Department of Theatre Arts at Folsom Lake College is to provide the people of the region with theatre that speaks to their lives and experiences and that challenges their expectations.  We strive to enrich the community by providing performing arts opportunities for the people of the region as actors, designers, and technicians in a fully-supported theatrical environment.

Auditions for Six Degrees of Separation will be held January 26, 2009, 7:00 pm on a first come first served basis. Callbacks will be held January 27 and 28, 2009, 7:00 pm by invitation only following the January 26 auditions. Auditions will take place on the campus of Folsom Lake College, 10 College Parkway, Folsom, 95630.  One dollar parking permits are available at kiosks located throughout the parking lots.  Come to the Community Room also known as FL1 Aspen Hall room 20 to sign in for auditions.  The Community Room is located near the south entrance of campus, on the southwest corner of building FL1 Aspen Hall. It is requested that you bring a photo and resume, if available.  These items are not required.

Six Degrees of Separation contains a large and diverse cast.  All ages over 18 are needed.  We are looking for actors from the community as well as college students and adult newcomers to acting.  For more information, please call 916-608-6800.
