The Sacramento County Sheriff’s Department has identified the victim of a fatal shooting Saturday night in Rancho Cordova as Timothy Brodie, the sheriff’s press release reported.

Rancho Cordova police Chief Rueben Meeks is looking for people to serve on a new police advisory committee. The newly formed Chief’s Outreach Advisory Board will be improving the quality of life and building trust between the communities in Rancho Cordova and the police department, a police news release says.
Sacramento County sheriffs officials said officers responded to an apartment complex on the 3000 block of Laurelhurst Drive in Rancho Cordova around 10:40 p.m. Friday after numerous 911 calls of gunfire reporting gunfire in the area, Sacramento County sheriff’s Capt. Scott Jones said.
According to the California Highway Patrol, a Rancho Cordova motorcycle officer was injured on his way to work this morning in a collision with a vehicle at Highways 99 and 113, according to the California Highway Patrol.
The Rancho Cordova Police Department will be conducting a Driving Under the Influence (DUI) Sobriety Checkpoint on Saturday December 20, 2008 in Rancho Cordova. The DUI checkpoint will be operational from 8:00 p.m. to 2:00 a.m. the next morning.
Juventus, the Rancho Cordova Soccer Club Select team for under 12 boys, was the winner of the District Cup Tournament in Woodland on December 13th. The team beat the Folsom Rangers in the C bracket with a 2-1 score. To advance to the championship game, Juventus had finished first in its league and then won its bracket in the qualifying tournament in Davis the previous weekend.
