RCPD Officer Will Recover From Injuries

The motorcycle officer who was injured Friday, December 19  in a motor vehicle accident is expected to completely recover from his injuries. Deputy Corey Simpson was injured on Highway 99 in Sutter County, suffering injuries to his right leg and shoulder. The Sacramento County Sheriff’s Department says Simpson will spend several days in the hospital.

Deputy Simpson is a seven-year veteran of the Sheriff’s Department, and has been working as a contract officer with the City of Rancho Cordova for more than four years.

The driver of the other vehicle was Ricardo Toche, of Marysville. Toche did not see Simpson on his motorcycle and turned into the path of the officer, who was on his way to work.
