We heard a loud noise at that time today. It sounded like something landed on our roof. I went outside to see what had happened, but did not see anything. The sound was obviously happening about 1/2 mile from my house on the Eastern side of the neighborhood. Our hearts go out to this family and others who are directly impacted.

I want to reiterate the above commenter's expressed sympathies to all involved. It's especially unfortunate since it's Christmas Eve. I am also curious as to why Sac Metro Fire deals with this situation. I know a little bit about it, but not much. Does Rancho Cordova not have its own fire department?

  4. Rancho Cordova contracts out fire and police services to Sac Metro Fire and to Sacramento County Sheriff's respectively.
