According to the California Highway Patrol, a Rancho Cordova motorcycle officer was injured on his way to work this morning in a collision with a vehicle at Highways 99 and 113, according to the California Highway Patrol.
The accident occurred at 11:10 a.m. Highway 99 between Highway 113. Officer Cory Simpson, 39, of Yuba City, who suffered a broken leg “at most,” was taken by helicopter to Sutter Roseville Medical Center, said Officer Jeff Larson of the Yuba-Sutter CHP.
Simpson was riding his department motorcycle south on Highway 99 when Ricardo Toche, 33, of Marysville, turned left from Highway 113 into his path in a Toyota RAV4. Toche did not see the vehicle, Larson said.
Simpson was lucky to escape with moderate injuries. He was unconscious for a short time, Larson said. Toche was not arrested. Alcohol was not involved.
