The Rancho Cordova Police Department and the Sacramento Sheriff’s Department are heading a fundraising event that will benefit the family of fallen officer,Larry Canfield. On Wednesday, December 17, 2008, Round Table Pizza at 10375 Folsom Blvd will be donating 25% of its daily profits to the fund. Additional donations can be made for the family, just see the restaurant for details.

Officer Canfield died after a motorcycle accident on November 11, He was in the process of stopping a speeding driver on Coloma Road, when another vehicle pulled out in front of him. The 43 year old officer was taken to Mercy San Juan Hospital, but passed away hours later from the injuries he received in the accident.

Officer Canfield left behind a wife and two children. He was a 13 year veteran of the Sheriff’s Department and he also served in the US Army.

Mortgage Risk Assessment Company Expanding to Rancho Cordova

Rancho Cordova is soon to be home to the large mortgage risk assessment software company, First American Core-Logic. The company has concluded its year long search for a local location and has ended up signing one of the year’s largest leases. First American Core-Logic has signed a deal to occupy a two-story, 54,000-square-foot building in the Capital Center office complex in Rancho Cordova.
